Community Bonds

What do you do to be involved in the community?

There are some things to do like serving food, playing games, reforestation, neighborhood gathering, cleaning up, helping animals, or writing and sharing in this blog. I like watching trees grow. When they're higher with fruits I get to see birds chirping, hanging out, and playing around the branches. The sad part is not all seeds will successfully grow.

Definition
If I remember a brief lesson about society there's this term called "gemeinschaft".
"Gemeinschaft" is a German term that translates to "community" or "society" in English. It refers to a type of social organization characterized by strong interpersonal relationships, shared values, and a sense of common identity among its members.

And then "gesellschaft".

"Gesellschaft" is a German term that translates to "society" or "company" in English. It refers to a type of social organization characterized by impersonal relationships, individualism, and a focus on achieving specific goals or objectives.

Gemainschaft and Gesellschaft are terms introduced by the German sociologist Ferdinand Tönnies to distinguish two social bonds into two dichotomous sociological types.

Comparison
In a "Gemeinschaft," individuals are closely connected through familial, cultural, or traditional bonds, and social interactions are often informal and personal. This type of community often exists in smaller, tight-knit groups such as villages or rural areas where everyone knows each other and cooperates for the common good. Decision-making tends to be consensus-based, and there is a strong emphasis on maintaining social harmony and cohesion.

In a "Gesellschaft," social interactions are often based on contractual agreements, professional associations, or economic transactions rather than personal ties. This form of society typically emerges in larger, urbanized settings where people have diverse backgrounds and interests. Decision-making processes are often formalized, and there is a greater reliance on institutions such as laws and regulations to govern behavior. Economic activities play a significant role, and there may be less emphasis on maintaining close-knit community bonds compared to "Gemeinschaft" societies.

In sociology, a community is often defined as a group of people who share common characteristics, interests, or experiences and who interact with each other within a specific social context.

In biology, a community refers to all the populations of different species that interact and live together in a particular area or habitat. These interactions can include competition for resources like food and shelter, predation, cooperation, and symbiosis.
